I originally got the idea for this piece while hiking at Starved Rock State Park (Oglesby, IL) with some friends. I took some pictures (including the one displayed here) and immediately thought about writing a piece about them. The trees in this picture represent human life, and they grow taller over time. As humans grow older we gain more knowledge and wisdom from our experiences. This piece is centered around self-reflection and self growth while evoking feelings of nostalgia and serenity.
